Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani recently revealed his excitement about teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan for Dunki, expressing his desire to work with the actor since witnessing his talent in the TV series Circus. Having a career spanning over two decades and creating some of the most successful films, Hirani shared that collaborating with SRK has been a longstanding aspiration. The director known for helming hits like 3 Idiots, PK and Munna Bhai MBBS revealed he was taken away by the Bollywood superstar's charm and persona. "I remember watching Circus, and there was this particular scene with a captivating camera angle where an actor was delivering a monologue. I was enthralled by his performance. Although I didn't know who he was at the time, I was determined that once I finished school, I would approach him to make a film," Hirani mentioned in an interview with News 18. "However, it took me two years to graduate from the film institute, and by then, Shah Rukh Khan had become a massive star (laughs). So, I had to wait for 20 years before finally getting the chance to collaborate with him on a film," he added. ALSO READ: WHAT! After finally teaming up with the Pathaan star for Dunki, Hirani expressed his admiration, mentioning that he was captivated by the actor's charisma. He humorously shared a ritual of wearing an eye mask and earplugs during the actor's shots, indicating his deep focus on the performance. Highlighting the actor's brilliance, he praised him not just as an exceptional artist but also as an outstanding individual. Dunki hit theatres alongside Salaar. Unfortunately, the film had a lacklustre start at the box office, raking in Rs 50 crore in its initial two days. Apart from SRK, the movie features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover.
